Indore: City crime branch on Sunday arrested two persons in connection with the vehicle theft. The accused were handed over to Juni Indore police station staff for further action.  ASP (crime) Amarendra Singh said that a tip off was received that a youth, who was involved in bike lifting, was seen going towards Devguradia area after which crime branch team cordoned off the area and nab the accused. He identified himself as Ravindra Suryavanshi, of Piplya village of Khargone district. Accused told the police he was earlier employed as a security guard in Swastik Colony where he met his supervisor Kanhaiyalal Thakur of Uamaria Khurd. Thakur has a bike which had to be repaired but he did not have money. Thakur later told him to steal a same company’s bike after which accused Ravindra had stolen a bike from Juni Indore area and sold it to Thakur for Rs 5000.

Accused Ravindra also confessed to steal a bike from near Crescent Water Park in July last. He was using the bike after manipulating its engine number by scratching it with some sharp object. He told the police that a mobile phone was also stolen by him from Kanadia area a few months ago. He was also jailed in connection with the theft in a temple. Police also arrested Kanhaiyalal who told Ravindra to steal bike.

An absconding accused of a loot incident was also arrested by crime branch team on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off, accused Sohel alias Teta of Juna Risala was on the run in a loot incident of Centra Kotwali police station area for last few months. He came to his residence when he was arrested by crime branch team. The police team earlier raided many places in his search but he could not be arrested after that police had announced a reward of Rs 5000 for his arrest.
