Indore: Students suffer as DAVV site remains shut for 3 days

Indore: Thousands of students could not get admission and result updates from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) for three days as its website shut down due to power failure. On Friday, the website stopped functioning as some fault occurred while electricity cables were laid by MP West Zone Electricity Distribution Company Ltd.

“Power supply to our IT centre and computer centre disrupted. As servers were down, the website became non-functional,” said examination controller Ashesh Tiwari. Officials of both the centres did not inform vice-chancellor Dr Narendra Dhakad and registrar Ajay Verma.

The aggrieved students rang up university office but there was no response as Saturday and Sunday were holidays. LLB and BA-LLB final semester results are awaited. Students had taken provisional admission in LLM but their admission can be confirmed only if they provide marksheet to colleges by August 14.

“We have sent results to computer centre for uploading it on website. But the centre officials told us that the website is not working for past three days. That’s how I came to know about the problem. I immediately informed V-C and registrar about it,” said Tiwari. The VC directed the computer centre employees to use generator to start website. By this time, the electrician was called to start generator and resume power supply.

Results still not out

The much-awaited LLB and BA-LLB final semester results could not be declared as they were not uploaded on website till filing of this report at 11.30 pm. Tuesday is the last date for LLM aspirants to submit marksheet of LLB/BA-LLB final semester results.
