Dewas: On the second day of the ongoing indefinite strike, patwaris and revenue inspectors of the district once again pressed for their six-point demand and warned that the agitation will continue until government fulfil all their demands.

Providing momentum to the strike, patwaris on Friday staged a demonstration at Manduk Pushkar. Addressing the gathering District Patwari Association district president Dharmendra Khinchi informed that apart from patwaris from Kannod, Khategaon and Satwas, who already had extended their solidarity, the protest has received fresh support from all other colleagues employed in Tonkhurd, Hatpipliya and Bagli tehsil.

Kinchi further announced that the strike and protest would continue until their demands were met by the government. He however conveyed that all the striking officials expressed deep regret for the difficulty being faced by farmers during this harvest season due to the strike. The entire works at tehsil office were badly hit due to the ongoing strike. Farmers remained the most affected as ‘land khasra’, field measurement and mutation works came to a complete standstill with the absence of patwaris in the revenue office.

The protesting revenue officials have been demanding salary revisions and promotions among others for over a week and also staged dharna at tehsil offices to press for their demands.
