Indore: RTO, police suspend driving license of 14 violators

Indore: In a joint action launched by Regional Transport Office and traffic police, the officials suspended license of 14 commuters on Wednesday. Besides, officials imposed fine on 64 commuters for violating traffic rules and Motor Vehicle Act.

Out of 14 commuters, RTO officials suspended license of six commuters including three for jumping the red signal and three for talking over phone while driving. RTO inspector Ravi Mishra said joint drive was launched at Vijay Nagar square and Robot Square to check violation of traffic rules.  “Check drive will continue for a week at different squares in city,” Mishra said.

He said commuters whose license has been suspended will get a chance to place their stand before RTO but action will be taken if they fail to give satisfactory reply. Meanwhile, large number of commuters protested against the drive as they posed themselves as people having links with influential people. In response to protest by commuters, Mishra said that action against violators have been taken following Supreme Court orders.
