Indore: Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has opened online registration window for students to apply for admission to MBA and MCA programmes offered by colleges in the state. While admission in MCA course is based on the marks obtained by a student in qualifying exam, students would be enrolled in MBA courses on the basis of their performance in common management admission test (CMAT)-2017 conducted by AICTE in January.
However, DTE stated if the CMAT candidates alone were not able to fill seats in the MBA course they would also consider students seeking admission in the programme on the basis of their qualifying exam marks. But priority would be given to CMAT candidates.
In MCA course there is no such condition. DTE will also open online registration window for ME/MTech and MPharm courses. While the registration for MPharm is going to start on Thursday, the applications for admission to ME/MTech courses would be accepted online from Friday. Like MBA, preference would be given to GPAT candidates during admission in MPharm and GATE qualifiers in ME/MTech. Students in MPharm would be first filled through GPAT candidates and if any vacancy remains afterwards, they would be filled with non-GPAT students. Similarly, in ME/MTech courses preference would be given to GATE qualifiers.
