Indore: A hi-tech investigation across the country resulted in arrest of two who called the numbers of station in-charges of Juni Indore and Chandan Nagar police stations and used abusive language.

According to the police, the calls were made from a number late in the night some time ago. The cops traced the number and summoned its user for questioning. The user, however, denied making the obscene calls.

The call logs of the user’s mobile was checked the numbers of station in-charges were not found in outgoing call logs leading the police to believe that the user had deleted the call details.

The user’s firm denial to have anything to do in the mater caused the police to get the CDR and analysis of the CDR revealed that the calls were not made from the mobile number at all.

Treating the matter as ‘spoof calling’, the police then dug deeper and found that the calls were made using International Long Distance Service software using the mobile number in question. A further digging established that the calls came through a router based in Hyderabad forwarded from a California server.

The call originating number was determined as 9098656896 belonging to one Mohit Dube of Naugaon, District Chatarpur. Information gathered on Mohit revealed that he worked on MCX and had purchased the software for 30 Dinars.

Mohit was questioned and he admitted to making the calls on behalf of his friend Avinash who had a property dispute with Amit Gupta whose number was used to make the calls and get him in trouble with the police. Both Avinash and Amit are residents of Naugaon.

Both Mohit and Avinash were booked by the police and on being questioned further they admitted to making similar calls to Delhi and UP police officers.
