Indore: MIMS chairman Ramesh Badlani arrested from New Delhi

Indore: The city police have arrested chairman of Modern Institute of Medical Science Ramesh Badlani from a hotel in New Delhi on Tuesday night. He was on the run in the case of fraud registered against him in Kanadia police station following complaint of students who went on an indefinite hunger strike at Regal square in April this year.

According to sources, Badlani was arrested from Le Seasons Hotel near Aerocity Metro Station, New Delhi, on Tuesday night and was presented before Delhi Court on transit remand. “Police will bring him to Indore in a train and will present him before the court on Wednesday morning,” source said.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Harinarayanachari Mishra confirmed the arrest of Badlani and said that the matter is under investigation. A case of under Section 420, 406 of IPC was registered against him on the direction of DIG in Kanadia police station about a fortnight ago on the complaint of students for not conducting  classes and providing poor facilities despite taking full fees. The teachers were also not paid salaries. Lok Sabha Speaker and Indore MP Sumitra Mahajan had intervened in the matter after which the classes of the students were started.
