Indore: MGM Medical College dean asks department head to submit details in case of ‘issuance of fake blindness certificates’

Indore: Taking suo moto action over the complaint lodged by a professor of ophthalmology department with the police, MGM Medical College dean on Tuesday asked department head to submit details about the case.

College dean Dr Sharad Thora has sent a letter to HoD Dr Vijay Bhaisare asking him to produce copies of blindness certificates issued by the department. “We have asked Dr Vijay Bhaisare to submit a report about the complaint made by Dr Sanjeev Agrawal to police and also about the procedure of issuing blindness certificates,” Dr Thora said.

He said he tried to contact Dr Agrawal but he is out of station at present. According to Dr Thora, the matter will be discussed with Dr Agrawal and action will be taken accordingly. City Superintendent of Police (Central Kotwali) BPS Parihar has sent letters to hospital administration and also to HoD to provide them the required documents.

Professor in ophthalmology department Dr Sanjeev Agrawal had approached DIG Harinarayanachari Mishra on Monday to lodge a complaint against corruption in the department and had told police that fake blindness certificates are being made in the hospital by the doctors.
