The victim learnt about the engagement of the accused on April 25 after which she approached the police and lodged a complaint,” sub inspector CS Chauhan said.

Dr Basant Nigwal is assistant professor in anesthesia department of MGM Medical College. He has been sent to Khandwa Medical College on deputation. Nigwal returned to Indore after taking leave from the college. Police have begun investigation into the matter.
