Indore: Two friends were attacked by a group leaving one of them dead and other critically injured. The injured was taken to a hospital in a critical condition.

Police have registered a case against six persons— Pravin Yadav, Manoj, Vikas, Sanju Dharwale, Pappu Jadhav and Sanjay Fauja for the crime. No arrests have been made till late night.

Police are trying to record statement of the injured to proceed further in the case.

According to ASP Sampat Upadhyay, the incident occurred at 6pm on Sunday. Bhagwan Dalwe of Shivaji Nagar was returning home with his friend Rama when they were intercepted by about half-a-dozen armed men near Malwa Mill Anaj Mandi. Before they could comprehend anything, the accused opened fire Bhagwan and stabbed Rama. The bullet wounds to Bhagwan proved fatal and he succumbed on the spot while Rama received stab wounds and has been admitted to a  hospital in critical condition.  Upadhaya said prima facie it appears that the attack is a result of an old dispute between Bhagwan and his attackers. Bhagwan received two bullet wounds. Both Bhagwan and Rama have criminal records. Police are trying to record statement of Rama.
