Indore: Jet Airways stops flights to 5 destinations from city

There is bad news for frequent flyers of city. The debt-ridden Jet Airways shut down its four fights operating between Indore-New Delhi and New Delhi-Indore from Monday. The airline withdrew flights from city to five destinations in last 20 days including Chennai, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi.

The decision to stop Indore-New Delhi and New Delhi-Indore flights was sudden, which caused panic among the passengers who had booked their tickets. Saddled with heavy debts, Jet Airways is unable to make lease payment of aircrafts and salaries of its employee. It was operating for destinations including New Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Chennai, Bengaluru and Jaipur.

At present, it is operating only on Indore-Jaipur-Indore sector. The operation of Indore-Chennai, Indore- Chandigarh and Indore-Bengaluru was closed about 20 days back.  The financial crisis forced the company to stop four flights operating on Indore-Mumbai sector a week ago. If the airline withdraws Indore-Jaipur-Indore flights, then is total flight operations from the city would come to an end.
