Indore: GSTN Portal remained crashed for the whole day on Wednesday. The technical snag caused worry to the tax-payers and consultants as the due date of filing THE GST-3B is Friday.
AK Gaur, president of Commercial Tax Practitioners Association and AK Lakhotia, President MP Tax Law Bar Association, said that since rolling out of new tax regime on July 1, 2017, the GSTN portal had been causing problems for the traders and it is seen as a regular phenomenon.
Most of time, the portal works very slowly. It concerns tax-payers as well as consultants. This situation also puts mental pressure on tax consultants and their staff to work on the last date of filing of return. The most unfortunate part is that despite technical snags in the portal, there is no change in last date for filing.
If the last date is extended, this is done for a few days. The Tax consultants say the slow pace of portal also affects them. Gaur and Lakhotia said that they would meet SGST Commissioner Dr Pawan Kumar Sharma and hand over him a memorandum highlighting their plights. But what is more shocking is that he tax payers have to pay penalty of Rs 50 per day and Rs 20 per day for no returns if the due date is over.
