Indore: Following instructions of the PMO, the Central Goods and Service Tax (CGST) and State Goods and Service Tax (SGST) departments started refund drive from Thursday and the drive will continue till June 14. Under the drive, special camps would be held on June 4 and 8 to settle refund cases of IGST, CGST, SGST, Cess, excess tax payment, ITC etc.

Neerav Kumar Mallick, Commissioner of Customs, said that the special refund drive of IGST, which began on Thursday, would continue till June 14. Officers and staffers of the department will attend all issues pertaining to refund. During the period, offices will remain open on Saturday also to facilitate quick disbursal of refund.

He requested members of trade and industry to avail the opportunity to get their pending refund claims processed. Officers of the Customs department will also try to resolve all issues. Similarly, the State Goods and Service Tax Department (SGST) is also organising a similar drive on the same dates at its circles offices in the state.

Under the drive, two special refund camps would be organised on June 4 and 8 at the circle offices. Dr Pawan Kumar Sharma, Commissioner SGST, said during the drive period all circle offices would remain opened and where all pending cases would be resolved.

Dr Dharmapal Sharma, Joint Commissioner is deputed as Nodal officer at the headquarters level. CA JP Saraf, Joint Secretary (GST) Tax Practitioners Association, Indore, said that CGST and SGST departments were organiing the drive as per the instruction they received during the video conferencing of PMO with CGST and SGST commissioners held on May 29. During the drive period, accesses can meet the officers and resolve his GST related problems. During the drive claims of refunds of IGST, CGST, SGST, Cess, excess tax payment, ITC and inward duty structure will be made.
