Indore: Education experts, industry leaders share experience with students

Indore: Daly College Business School (DCBS) on Sunday concluded its two-day management development programme ‘Creation of Life Vision’ held on the college campus. Aimed at helping students in creating life vision by imparting skills and learning management, speakers from education field shared their knowledge and experience with a large number of students.

Sharing information through interactive sessions, professionals and industrialists also addressed the gathering. On the first day, the session began with the Pledge taking ceremony on the occasion of 75th year of Quit India Movement by all the students and staff members of DCBS. Chief advisor Dr Gupta addressed students to motivate them.

Dean Om S Chauhan began his address by stating the importance of setting positive belief system and shedding inhibitions in life. There was an ice breaking exercise conducted by Dr Rinku Joshi on setting expectations and ways to fulfil them. Addressing students Dr Sandeep Atre spoke about emotional intelligence. “Emotional intelligence is the ability to identify and manage your own emotions and the emotions of others,” he said.

Further, Atre talked about various skills that a manager needs for managing emotions. “three major skills you must have are emotional awareness; the ability to harness emotions and apply them to tasks like thinking and problem solving; and the ability to manage emotions, which includes regulating your own emotions and cheering up or calming down other people,” he said. Students were excited and felt very informative on knowing about human brain and the possible reasons of our behaviour during certain situations. Further, various interactive activities were organised for students to explain about emotions.

Guiding them how to manage emotions, Atresaid, “Take some time to notice your emotional responses and consider what might be behind them, whether values, memories or experiences.” He explained that acceptance and healthy lifestyle is important to manage our emotion.
On the second day of the program, Amit Khandelwal discussed‘Evolution of Social Media and knowhow of Social Media applications’. Further, he talked about safe guarding oneself from cyber nitty-gritty. Taking students out to the field for outbound activities, Rakesh Jain organised team building games like Pipes and Marbles, Caterpillar and other physical activities. Students enjoyed the sessions thoroughly. Positive energy, enthusiasm, vigour and lots of motivation were takeaways of all the students.
