Indore: Dr Dashore’s formula helps treat patients of hair loss without transplant

Indore: Conducting his research on Platelet Rich Plasma (PSP) therapy, 28-year-old dermatocosmetologist Dr Shuken Dashore has modified the formula to make it simpler and more applicable. Further, expanding his research to meet the requirements of people all over the world, he has made the calculator available online through a web portal.

Talking about the formula, Dashore said, “The formula determines the exact concentration of platelets for PSP based on a simple blood test.” The innovation will help patients by treating hair loss without transplant.

Explaining details of therapy and how the formula helps, Dashore said, “Patients have the option of hair transplant or trying PSP therapy in case of baldness or severe hair loss.” In PSP, he explained that blood sample is taken from patient and platelets are separated. “Platelets are concentrated for the therapy and then injected into patients,” Dashore explained.

However, results of this therapy are erratic, because some patients are very satisfied while others are displeased, he mentioned. “Studying the use of therapy further, I had discovered that every patient has different composition of platelet, white blood cells and red blood cells, therefore we need new composition of blood sample for each patient,” Dashore said.

With his study, initially, he had come up with a formula that could determine the exact composition based on a single device. “I was awarded President Appreciation Award-2016’ for ‘Innovative Work’ in dermatosurgery by Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venerologists & Leprologists (IADVL),” Dashore shared.

Encouraged by the award, he took the research further and modified the formula to fit in all kind of centrifuges. “Instead of waiting for everyone to read my research paper, I preferred using technology and developed software that does the calculation for a doctor,” Dashore said.

Following his oath of helping society and people, he made the software available for free on his website. Looking at work, Dashore was invited to share his work at World Congress of Cosmetic Dermatology held at Banglore. More than 5000 national and international specialist doctors attended this conference.
