Indore: Defunct signal unleashes traffic anarchy, department concerned least concerned

Indore : Massive traffic chaos prevailed at Satya Sai Square on Tuesday evening after a large number of vehicles stuck face to face after due to traffic signals standing out of order.

Similar situation has been prevailing at the square for last four days, especially during evening hours, as in the absence of signals, vehicles are rushing at their own will without following any traffic rules. The situation has already led to many accidents at the square as well.

Despite the hassle being borne by the citizens, traffic police officials or department concerned are least concerned as no step has been taken to repair the defunct signal since it stopped working four days ago. ASP (traffic) Prashant Choubey said that “Signal installation or repairing works are done by the traffic department of Indore Municipal Corporation. However, we will inform the officials concerned about the problem prevailing at Satya Sai Square.”

Meanwhile, an official of IMC told Free Press that the signal went out of order due to an accident on the square. “A vehicle had rammed the signal pole a couple of days ago. The repair work of the signal is in progress and it will be ok within two days,” he informed.
