Mhow: The rates of savory snack (namkeen) have been rising continuously in the city compelling people to buy it at extremely high rates. Their rates in the city are more than that in Indore. Indore collector along with Namkeen Association finalized the rate to maximum Rs. 180 per kg which is followed in Indore but the sellers in Mhow are not cooperating. They are unanimously selling it at high rates even when gram and oil aren’t that costly. They are not scared of the administration and sure that there will be no proceedings against them. The mob is rebelling but they have nowhere to go with their complaints. Demonetisation has led to this steep rise of rates. A lot of consumers demand proceedings against the same.
