Indore: Congress demands probe against ‘Mamaji’, VIPs in Vyapam scam

Indore: Over 100 Congress party activists led by working president Vinay Bakliwal staged demonstration against ruling BJP government over Vyapam and other recruitment scam on Thursday. They raised slogans against government and demanded high level investigation into gross irregularities committed in recruitment made in different state government departments during tenure of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

“Investigation agencies found names of many people in the diary of scam accused Jagdish Sagar. Some were in code words like ‘Mamaji’ and ‘VIP’. Everybody knows who is Mama in the state but the investigation agencies appear ignorant,” Bakliwal said. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is known as Mamaji in the state.

City Congress spokesperson Johar Manpurwala said scam is not limited to Vyapam and PMT as Dr Sagar manipulated recruitment in all departments. “Matter should be investigated by CBI and other agencies as current probe couldn’t go ahead of PMT admissions,” he said.

Congress leaders said diary includes name, address, phone numbers and students who got admission by unfair means but agencies are saving the corrupt due to pressure from chief minister. The Congressmen also submitted a memorandum addressed to Governor of state.

As assembly elections draw near, Congress party doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned to target the ruling BJP government. Congress party organised activists’ meeting in Indore assembly constituency number four on Thursday and pledged to dethrone mayor Malini Gaud and end her family’s influence in the constituency.
