Indore: A team sent by Central government for assessing cleanliness standards of the city would start its confidential on-the-spot inspection on Saturday. The team comprising of nearly 15 members would start visiting wards and collecting details to verify the seven star claim by the city, which was adjudged cleanest city in the country in the last two Swachh Survekshan.
Last month, the city had declared itself seven-star and invited Central government team to verify declaration. The Central government sent an independent team to verify the claim. The team had arrived on January 2 but will start on the spot inspection to verify claim on Saturday. Total marks under Swachha Survekshan are 5000. The marks are divided equally under four categories – Service Level
Progress (1250 marks), Certification (1250 marks), Direct Observation (1250 marks) and Citizen Feedback (1250 marks).
The total marks under certification category are 1250. The city has already got 250 marks for ODF certificate. On receiving remaining 1000 marks, the city’s score for certification category would be 1250 marks, which would be a strong step in direction of scoring high under Swachha Survekshan. After certification category, IMC would have to focus on other categories to retain cleanest city tag for third time.
