Cablemen of the district cannot broadcast any political advertisement without the permission of Media Certification and Monitoring Committee permission, set-up for the assembly election.
As per the directive of the Election Commission of India, every registered national and state political party and candidates contesting the election, who propose(s) to advertise on the television channels, it is mandatory to take permission from the district level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee three days in advance and the non-registered national and state-level political parties and candidates contesting the elections will be given seven days prior permission from district level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee.
Section 13 of this Act also provides that legal action will be taken against cable operators for violation of the instructions. Penalties can also be slapped and the same will also be done for the seizure of goods. Apart from this, as per the instructions given by Chief Election Officer Madhya Pradesh Bhopal, the cable operators will submit the recording of the latest 24 hours of news, news etc., in the office of Media Certification and Monitoring Committee next day.
