Indore: A woman BJP activist was stabbed to death by a person in front of her house under Banganga police station area on Tuesday. The accused is her friend’s husband and she had an altercation with him over repayment of loan. Police have arrested the accused.
Additional Superintendent of Police Prashant Choubey said the deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Indira Singla, a resident of Durga Nagar. She was at home in the afternoon when accused Kanhaiyalal Bansiwal, a resident of Pancham Ki Phel, arrived. He called her out and started arguing with her. An altercation ensued and the accused in a fit of rage attacked her with a knife and fled. The local residents immediately informed the police and rushed her to a hospital but she could not be saved.
Investigating officer and sub inspector Vinod Sharma said preliminary investigation revealed that she had lent Rs 50,000 to the accused few months ago and was forcing him to repay money. Indira had taken his two-wheeler vehicle when he did not repay money.
Police said the accused had come to take back his vehicle when they had an argument. Sources claimed that Indira was a BJP activist and she was friend of accused Kanhaiyalal’s wife Vandana. However, police did not confirm that she was a BJP activist.
According to Sharma, Vandana went missing from her residence a month ago after which accused lodged missing complaint with Tukoganj police station. Vandana has not returned to her husband’s place since then. The accused doubted that Indira told Vandana to flee and she didn’t allow Vandana to meet Kanhaiyalal. The police are investigating on all aspects and accused is being questioned further.
