Indore: City police arrested five persons with banned currency notes with the face value of Rs 70 lakh late on Thursday night. Police are trying to trace the person to whom they were going to deliver the notes.

Vijay Rajput, in charge Pandharinath police station said that a checking drive was launched in Machhi Bazaar area on the directives of senior police officials. During the drive, team stopped two auto rickshaws for checking when the passengers tried to flee from the rickshaws but police team cordoned them off and nabbed them. More than demonetised currency worth Rs 70 lakh was seized from the accused.

The accused identified as Mukesh Daheriya, Raju, Vakil Shah, Mahesh Sharma and Arvind. They were going to deliver the banned currency notes to someone but they did not tell the person’s name to whom the notes to be delivered.
