During a meeting, municipal commissioner Ashish Singh reviewed on-going work under Smart city projects. He took status report of development works including river front side development work, Harsiddhi Park, Chandrabhaga bridge, Chandrashekhar Vyas bridge, monument sites renovation including that of Rajwada, Gopal Mandir, Harirao and Malharao Chhatri, Vyas bridge from Jinsi to Bada Ganpati and Bada Ganpati to Rajmohalla, Smart road from Mhow Naka to Tori Corner, road from Sarvate Bus Stand to Gangwal bus stand etc.

Singh sought to know if the contractors were meeting the timeline set by the IMC for infrastructure projects. Singh was informed that some contractors were not complying with the deadlines. Expressing annoyance of slow speed of works, Singh pulled up officials for not monitoring projects regularly and also directed them to issue notices to contractors working at snail’s pace.

The commissioner was informed that errant contractors were issued notices and sent reminders but to no avail. To this, the commissioner directed to impose penalties on erring contractors immediately. Soon after the meeting, the penalties were imposed on contractors of different projects.
