Indore: During the drive against vehicles with hooters and pressure horns, city traffic police removed 1139 hooters and pressure horns till Tuesday. The action against the vehicle drivers using hooters and pressure horns started from August 22.

In an official release issued by traffic police, the cops claimed that 675 owners of private and government vehicles have voluntarily removed the hooters and pressure horns from vehicles after police started drive. Police also appealed to people to remove hooters on their own to avoid action.

During the drive, police issued challans against 464 vehicles under Section 190 (2) of Motor Vehicle Act.  Traffic police also appealed to people who are driving their vehicle with hooters and horns illegally to remove them. During the drive on Tuesday, a Bolero car driver tried to mislead the police saying that his vehicle is attached with a government department. A sticker of state government was also found on vehicle. But action was taken against him.
