Indore: IIM-I to focus  on int’l exposure, research, Himanshu Rai

Indore: The new director of Indian Institute of Management Indore Professor Himanshu Rai on Monday said his main focus will be to develop a strategy that can create responsible leaders who remain contextually relevant. Addressing mediapersons after taking charge from outgoing director Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan, Professor Himanshu Rai said, We will focus on research, which is not only rich in content and data but also contributes to society, city, state and nation. We aim to be one of the top institutes in the world.”

He said IIM Indore would focus on raising leaders, entrepreneurs and managers with integrity. “We look forward to working with government organisations for betterment of nation; with NGOs to reform and bring about a positive change in the society; and with start-ups to encourage young minds and support them in every way required.”

He said though India has many family businesses, a good volume of research about family businesses is done in Italy. “We are planning to involve more foreign universities, bring faculty from abroad who will not only teach our participants but also collaborate with our faculty for research. As of now, one fourth of our participants have international exposure but we plan to make this cent percent.”
