With an astonishing century in the first match of Women’s World T-20 world Cup 2018, Indian cricket skipper Harmanpreet Kaur created a buzz among cricket community and fans. Kaur smashed a ton off just 49 deliveries hitting seven fours and eight sixes, helping India post a daunting total of 194 for 5 in 20 overs against New Zealand. This was India’s highest-ever total in the history of the Women’s World T20.
Kaur became the first Indian player to smash a century in T-20 international. Her master-stoke invited a series of applauds from cricket community and fans, who took to social media to praise the 29-year-old right-handed cricketer. With 103 off 51 balls in the end, Kaur also stitched a sensational 134-run partnership with Jemimah Rodrigues, who scored her fourth T20 half-century hitting 59 off 45 deliveries. Jemimah also became the youngest Indian to score a half-century in the T20s.
