The 2019 Lok Sabha elections were supposed to be fought on issues like development, achhe din, jobs, unemployment, GST, demonetisation, farmer woes, etc. Instead, the campaigns have been ‘personalised’ to such an extent that it has come down to a pathetic low wherein the conversation is something like Tu Chor (Rahul to Modi), and the response is Tera Baap Chor (Modi to Rahul).

PM Narendra Modi, of course, has been the key contributor here, attacking everyone on a personal level and then crying foul that the opponents are calling him names like chor, Hitler, Aurangzeb. The elections have really brought to the fore the excessive emphasis Modi likes to place on himself, everywhere, every time.

We wonder if the PM is taking inspiration from Bollywood. These ‘Modi’fied Bollywood dialogues could provide some clues.

I, Me, Modi: How PM is invoking his inner SRK, Salman this elections
I, Me, Modi: How PM is invoking his inner SRK, Salman this elections
I, Me, Modi: How PM is invoking his inner SRK, Salman this elections
I, Me, Modi: How PM is invoking his inner SRK, Salman this elections

Translation of above dialogue: If I say something even once, it’s as though I’ve said it a hundred times

I, Me, Modi: How PM is invoking his inner SRK, Salman this elections

And finally…

I, Me, Modi: How PM is invoking his inner SRK, Salman this elections
