Ujjain: Away from the hustle and bustle of city life here lies a place which seems hushed yet reverberating with abundance of energy and vibrations. It is endowed with natural splendour in its vicinity and famously called Ram Krishana Paramhans Aashram. Few people know its existence in Ujjain and even those who know about it hardly visit this place.
To know more about this place and its objectives, philosophy and activities, Free Press caught-up with Swami Bhaskaranand, an octogenarian who happens to be the chief of this aashram.
(Excerpts from the interview)
Tell us something about your ‘Aashram’?
It was established here in 2007 with the help of devotees. It is an affiliate of Belur Math. Here, not only we promote and disseminate the teachings and knowledge of Swami Ram Krishna Paramhans, but seekers also learn the ideals and life principles of swami Vivekanand and Sharda Devi. Our Aashram believes that god is one and resides in every soul with no distinction of caste, creed and religion.
What activities are carried out here?
Various activities such as spiritual discourses, meditation and way of leading a balanced and peaceful life are taught here. Primarily, those who are on quest and seeking spirituality and liberation generally come here.
Can you share with us secret of leading a fulfilling life based on philosophy of this aashram?
It is an open secret that one should believe in Karma. If one do Karma religiously and committees oneself to a cause weather in personal or professional sphere, then it leads a fulfilling and satisfactory life. Noble karmas provide a purpose not only to one’s life but also to others’. Only human beings have the distinction of being wise and intellectual as compared to other species so if we can’t make right choices than we are nothing short of animals.
We heard that you also run a physiotherapy centre here?
Yes! We have a physiotherapy centre here and people avail its services. It is completely free. We charge nothing for it. Not only this, we also have a child specialist who renders services every Monday, Thursday and Friday.
