Ujjain : Extreme summer has upset routine lives of city dwellers, forcing people to remain indoors until evening. As temperatures shot up on Saturday, more cases of people being admitted to hospital poured in and at least 50 cases of diarrhea and vomiting were reported from the district hospital.
The children’s ward in the hospital was almost full and doctors have advised use of curd, buttermilk, ice cream, lemon, fruit juice as a precaution against these diseases.
According to a weather analyst at Government Jiwajirao Observatory, Deepak Gupta, north western winds coming from Rajasthan at a speed of 8 kilometers per hour was responsible for high temperatures of about 42.5 degree Celsius maximum. These are likely to shoot up further.
Markets wore a deserted look due to scorching hot winds and reported only a trickle of customers throughout the day.
