Gory Tradition: Despite ban bullfighting continues unabated

Ujjain: Despite the government’s bans on bullfighting, the event was organised at Narsingh ghat, near Harsiddhi temple on Thursday. Traditional bullfighting is organised every year in the city on the next day of Diwali festival.  On Padwa, a bull fight event was organised, in which around a dozen hapless animals were pitted against each other. Government has banned the event citing serious harm to both animals and human beings but still the event was organised at several places including Lalpul, Jaisinghpura, Ankpat, Mullapura, Hamukhedi and Sadawal areas of the city. These bullfighting events will be held till Devuthani Gyaras aka Choti Diwali.
