Goodwill Lecture Series emphasises on role of languages in Ujjain

Ujjain: The 14th Dr Shivmangal Singh Suman All India Goodwill Lecture Series was hosted at the Bharatiya Gyanpeeth School on Thursday. Emphasising on the role of languages in the Indian society, Dr Jawahar Karnavat in a thought provoking lecture said it was very essential to associate the new generation with Indian languages to promote goodwill.

Several litterateurs have composed their verses in other Indian languages along with Hindi to promote goodwill, he said.

Karnavat stated that to maintain goodwill and faith, constant efforts and experiments should be done to promote Indian languages. He quoted the example of Roman,which is now being used in Hindi. China he said was the biggest example of how a country could progress simply by giving importance to its own language. Translation does play a vital role in the evolution of the language and should not be used to create a catastrophe, added Dr Karnavat.


Chairman Krishnamangal Singh Kulshreshtha presided over the programme. He spoke on the concept of social justice and said one should contemplate on how justice could be given to the deprived.The event began with an all religion prayer and kindling of the lamp. Dr Girish Pandya conducted the , while Dr Pushpa Chorasia proposed the vote of thanks.
