Mumbai : In a major announcement, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gave good news to the mill workers on Tuesday when he announced that more than five thousand houses in Mumbai and Mumbai Metropolitan Region will be handed over to them within a few days. He also agreed to take action against mill owner who didn’t surrender land to the government to construct houses for mill workers.
Making a self statement in Assembly on Thursday, Fadnavis informed the House that he held a meeting with mill worker union leader Datta Iswalkar, Jayashri Khadilkar and others to resolve issue. Total 2634 houses are under construction in Mumbai and 2418 houses are ready in MMR region, he said. Carpet area of houses in Mumbai would be 225 sq ft and the cost has been decided as Rs 9.50 lakh with consent of mill workers union, he added.

has been finalised to Rs 6 lakh and the carpet area will be 320 sq ft. Fadnavis said that the draw of the lottery of the flats in Mumbai will be held very soon.
