Game of Thrones is infamous for teasing their fans after having dropped another supposedly spoiler filled teaser, called, ‘Aftermath’. The previous two promos featured clips from the show but Aftermath does not show us any cast in the one minute long video but their left behind possessions.
Aftermath hints at Night King’s victory while he leaves Winterfell behind in ruins. We may not get to see any scenes from the show itself but the official tease is filled with signs hinting at what could happen to our beloved characters.
Here are the Easter eggs and soft spoilers from Aftermath teaser
One thing this tease confirms is that there will be a Winterfell battle which we have also seen in previous clips and trailer. While they feature the town in fire during the battle, Afterman shows it covered in layers of snow hinting at Night King’s victory.
The first scene shows the Stark flag in ruins much as the town itself destroyed possibly by the White Walkers. The dreaded place is filled with the main cast’s belongings, from as small as Tyrion’s pin to most noticeable Jon’s Sword ‘Longclaw’.
While Tryion’s Pin, Jaime’s hand, Daenerys’ chain, and Bran’s wheelchair all look like, they have been left behind broken and tattered during fights, Arya’s Needle and Longclaw have something special. While Needle stands as though it had been stabbed through a pile undead, Jon’s beloved Longclaw looks like it’s still attached to its holder on someone’s hip, now covered in snow.
In the last scene the sword can be seen deep in snow while a small pool of blood lays underneath it. Another teaser already shows Danny and Jon back at Dragonstone, so it’s safe to say neither are dead or have joined the undead army. Leaving us to believe someone close to Jon who he may have handed the sword to, maybe a family member won’t be surviving against the Army of the Dead. On the good side, there are no actual bodies in the clip, it might as well mean they all retreated and survived the battle.
