Ujjain : With Gambhir dam has recorded 811 Mc Ft storage, which is 36 per cent of its capacity of 2250 Mc Ft. Last year’s data showed that the dam was filled to full capacity on September 16.

By Saturday evening at 4 pm, many parts of the city witnessed heavy showers for around half an hour, while light rains drenched the city till late evening. Government Jiwajirao Observatory recorded 1.10 inch rains on Saturday, taking the total tall to 30.55 inches.

Another factor which increased the level of the Gambhir was water from Indore’s Yashwantsagar dam and one gate was opened for around 1.5 hours on Saturday morning. According to data received, the level of Gambhir dam on Friday evening was 692 Mc Ft, which increased to 811 Mc Ft by 7 pm on Saturday, recording an increase of 119 Mc Ft.
