His passion to deliver credible performance on screen makes him an actor of brilliance. Karam Rajpal of Star Plus’ popular Mere Angne Mein talks to Dhrithi Sudhakar Gulvadi about his show, his desire to do meaningful Bollywood movies and more…
Though all daily soaps claim to be different from each other, how different is your experience working in Mere Angne Mein?
First of all, it’s a multi camera set up, so that’s another experience for me. I actually feel blessed. On top of that, they are a very good cast, really wonderful actors, the creators are very good, the team is really good and it feels very delighted to be a part of the show because the script and the story are nice.
Share your special Rakshabandhan moment.
I just came to my hometown to see my sister here. Last year I couldn’t come and this time my sister insisted me to come down to my hometown and get the Rakhi tied. I just visited my school where I had studied. My principal, head teacher and my entire school were pretty happy to see me. They came all along and chilled out with me, so it was pretty good. Got pictures clicked with them. The entire 2 hours of meeting with the students were very nice.
Are you looking forward to work in Bollywood movies?
Yes, definitely. The decision which I’ve taken as of now is to quit television after this show and to get into movies, but if there is any other good project coming up according to the script then I might also look into it.
What kind of project would it be?
The projects or scripts that I am looking forward would be a thriller or sort of a grey shade.
Have you been approached by any producer?
To be very honest, that’s something I cannot disclose right now.
Should it be specifically for Bollywood or do regional movies interest you?
To be honest, I believe that the script should be good. What matters for me is the script whether it’s the regional movie or a Bollywood movie; the script should be good, no matter what else it is.
Where would you see yourself 5 years down the line?
Wherever my destiny takes me and wherever my fans take me.
