Mumbai : Fleet Footers SC were crowned champions after defeating Milan Club 5-3 via the penalty shootout tie-breaker in the finals of the 2nd Borivali Premier Football League (BPFL), organized under the auspices of the MDFA by the Borivali Sports Foundation and played at the St. Francis D’Assisi Ground, Borivali (W). The scores were tied at 1-all at the end of regulation period.

The victorious Fleet Footers outfit received a handsome ‘Champions’ Trophy, individual winner’s Gold medals and a cheque of Rs. 30, 000. Milan Club had to be content with the runners-up Trophy, the individual Silver medals and a cheque of Rs. 20, 000.

In the crucial tie-breaker, Fleet Footers successfully converted from the first four attempts through Kean Pereira, Umesh Perambra, Franco D’Souza and Grenville Murzello. The Milan Club could only score two through Ronak Patel and Siddharth Nayak while Nachiket Palav and Aashish Chavan failed to score from the ‘spot’ and the team had to finish second best.
