Even after 3 yrs, police fail to crack two murder cases

Indore :  The incompetence of City police stands exposed as they failed to solve mysteries pertaining to sensational killings of an elderly couple and a woman despite passing off more than three years.

In the elderly couple’s murder, the police have even sought a local court’s permission to close the case. In another case, the police are still groping in the dark and could not even establish the motive behind the killing that took place in June, 2012.

CASE-I

A couple Kirit Thakkar (67) and his wife Varsha (59) was murdered in a cold blood at Scheme No 114 on December 4, 2012. The accused had bludgeoned the Thakkars to death in their house and made off with valuables and cash worth Rs 8 lakh.

The sensational murder had made headlines forcing Lasudia police station personnel to take up the case on priority basis.

The police had suspected that a domestic help was behind the killing but they failed to nab him in past three years.

Two rough sketches of the suspect were released and a reward of Rs 15000 was announced for giving clue on the whereabouts of the suspect but all efforts proved futile.

The only thing police knew in past three years was that the domestic help who was hired four days before the incident could have committed the crime along with one of his accomplices. The suspicion is based on a CCTV footage that featured two persons coming out of the deceased couple’s house.

Police closed the file?

RD Kanwa, Thana in-charge of Lasudiya police station told Free Press that they presented the case file before the court to close it as they did not reach any conclusion in the case.  During investigation, officials of the city crime branch and Lasudiya police made every effort to identify the accused and apprehend them. Officials also questioned hundreds of suspects in connection with the murder but they could not even establish identity of the accused.

Case-II

Even after 3 yrs, police fail to crack two murder cases

A 52-year-old Saroj Dosi, wife of a financier Pradeep Dosi, was murdered at posh White Church Colony on June 15, 2012. Preliminary investigation had revealed that Dosi was killed for loot when she was at her house but the jewellery which believed to have robbed were found from the house where she was murdered. Since then the loot theory was ruled out. Investigation on the aspect of any old dispute was also done but police did not find any clue and the Dosi murder case remained unsolved since then.

Motive of her murder also could not be ascertained yet. However, the investigation is on but there was no headway into the case.
