EPFO commissioner took cognisance of death published in newspaper and swung into action

Indore : Creating an example of sensitivity and pro-active working, Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) officials visited the family members of a deceased employee at his home and handed over the PF amount to them within just three days of his death.

EPFO commissioner Ajay K Mehra took cognisance of the news of death published in a local daily newspaper and swung into action to take the move.

The employee Subhash Channe died in an accident on Thursday. Following the report, Mehra instructed his officers to contact the deceased’s family members and ensure fast payment of PF amount to them. Accordingly, the officials quickly completed the due diligence and completed the claim settlement procedure.

Public relation officer of EPFO, Satish Chaturvedi,and assistant Nidesh Raikwar rushed to the home of the diseased and handed over settlement papers and authority letter of the PF amount to them. Despite being Saturday, the officials completed the process.

EPFO state commissioner Mehra said that “His department is very much sensible in cases of death. In this case also as soon as officials got the information, they delivered the papers of settlement to kin of diseased in the shortest time period.”
