Indore : Filmmaker Prakash Jha was in Indore to promote his upcoming movie ‘Jai Gangaajal’, which is being shot in Bhopal, at Swami Vivekanand College on the occasion of Republic Day. Jha quoted the importance of women empowerment and highlighted various measures that one must inculcate in households like promoting education and freedom to work.
Looking at the interests of the college students, he said, “Movies are inspired by real life, and when I look at you all, I hope that each one of you attain the level of success and happiness like Rancho did in ‘3 Idiots’.” Continuing with his example, he added that the students still have time to decide what they truly want to be.
He urged the college authorities to ensure that the pressure of studies and exams is regulated. In a question-answer session, students of Swami Vivekanand College marvelled at Jha’s experiences.
Ques: How was your experience as an actor after being a senior director and screen writer?
Jha: That is an interesting question, and reminds me of the first lesson that I learned as actor. During an interaction with Priyanka Chopra, she told me, “You might be a senior director but you are junior in acting.” I bowed down to her. The same ideology, I suggest you to follow. Remember to be modest and ready to learn and you will always be on the right path to success.
Ques: How was your experience working with legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan?
Jha: Honestly, he is like an elder brother to me. He doesn’t throw tantrums like a superstar. He is a brother who collaborates and works professionally.
The movie is scheduled to release on March 4, starring Priyanka Chopra, Prakash Jha and Manav Kaul.
