Mumbai: Ailing yesteryear actor Dilip Kumar was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Lilavati Hospital on Friday with kidney-related complications. He may have to be put on dialysis.
Sources said that there has been a significant increase in Dilip Kumar’s creatinine and potassium levels. “The haemoglobin level has decreased and we have to start dialysis to stabilise his health condition,” said Dr Jalil Parkar.
“His creatinine level has gone up, leading to urinary complications. But the patient is stable. He was brought to the hospital because of dehydration and kidney problems,” said a doctor at the hospital.
The 94-year-old actor has been facing medical complications in recent years. In April last year, he was hospitalised with fever and nausea.
