Mumbai : Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim seems to be active from his Pakistan hideout with a threatening call to social activist Anjali Damania who registered an FIR at Vakola police station, claiming that she received a call from a Pakistan-based number, which an app identified it as ‘Dawood 2’, in the wee hours of Saturday.
Damania said the caller asked her to withdraw the cases she has filed against BJP leader Eknath Khadse. Her FIR stated that mobile application ‘Truecaller’ suggests that the caller is Dawood.
“Our officer visited her house to record her statement and the FIR has been registered,” a senior officer from Mumbai police said.
After the case was filed, Damania — a former leader of Aam Admi Party — urged the Centre to act. “I appeal to PM @narendramodi @PMOIndia & @rajnathsingh to give me time to urgently see them. Threat call? to a citizen? I want my Govt to act,” she tweeted and said received the call at 12.33 am, asking her to withdraw all cases against Khadse, from a number prefixed with +92 — the country code of Pakistan. The app flashed “Dawood 2” on the screen, her tweet said.
