Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) on Tuesday submitted in a special court a list of seven witnesses who will be examined against underworld gangster Chhota Rajan, accused in the infamous J Dey murder case.
When the matter came up for hearing before a special court, Pradeep Gharat, the special public prosecutor for CBI submitted a list consisting names of seven witnesses in the case, which will be examined by the prosecution.
Gharat, who was appointed as the special public prosecutor for this case, in the first week of October, gave names of seven witnesses out of the total 12 witnesses, which were submitted by the agency earlier.
While speaking to Free Press Journal, Gharat said, “We have to begin with the examination-in-chief so that the trial can be proceed expeditiously as per directions. We submitted names of seven people who will be examined by the prosecution to strengthen its case against Rajan.”
The examination-in-chief will start from November 7.
