Cross-Border Love! Pakistan’s ‘Hamid Ansari’ to be released from Bhopal jail after 10 years

Days after Pakistani authorities released the Indian prisoner, Hamid Nihal Ansari, India is now gearing to release a Pakistan national Imran Warsi who is lodged in Bhopal jail for 10 years. According to a report in News18.com, Warsi is a resident of Gulshan Iqbal locality in Karachi. Warsi and Ansari’s story is very much similar as Warsi too allegedly entered India in 2003 to marry a woman he fell in love with.

The report suggests that, Warsi used to visit his uncle based in Kolkata where he fell for his daughter and got married to her. Warsi was in Kolkata for 4 years before getting arrested by intelligence agency in 2008. Warsi was arrested in Bhopal while getting fake passport for his wife in order to take her to Pakistan.

Earlier in March this year, Warsi was released from Bhopal jail and shifted to Shahjahanabad’s Guardian police station.
