Bhayandar : In yet another stark instance of the misuse of authority by men in khaki, a head constable attached to Thane (rural) police has been booked under alleged charges of stalking and 32-year-old woman.

According to the police, the personnel who has been identified as Vishnu Wagh is attached to the Navghar police station in Bhayandar. He has been charged under section 354 (d) (1) of the Indian Penal Code, following a complaint registered by the woman who in her complaint has stated Wagh was known to their family and frequented their tenement in Bhayandar (east). However, on Sunday, the woman was taken aback when the accused cop came to their house and started insisting that would accompany her on her visit o her maternal home in Saphale, he also took her mobile number and started calling her up, the complainant alleged. Following a complaint registered by the woman, the Navghar police registered a case against Wagh late on Sunday night. “He was produced before the District Sessions Court, Thane on Monday where he was granted bail,” said an investigating officer.
