Bhayandar : Sensation prevailed in Bhayandar when two con artists robbed a poor labourer of Rs 24,000 on Monday. According to reports, Samaul Shaikh (43), a resident of Ram Mandir Road here, was  waiting outside the bank to transfer Rs 24,000 to his family in North India. A duo walked over to him and struck a conversation offering a sizeable wad of currency in exchange for the amount he was there to deposit. Pretending to be in a hurry, the duo handed over the bundle of cash to Shaikh and took his money in return. By the time Shaikh realised that he was duped and the bundles of currency notes were nothing but layers of plain paper, the duo had disappeared. Shaikh immediately alerted on-duty police personnel who are believed to have procured CCTV footages from the bank premise. An FIR in this case is yet to be registered by the police.
