Mumbai: A first-year college student was allegedly molested by a pillion rider at suburban Bandra, police said on Saturday.

The incident occurred on Saturday around 2.30 pm at Kherwadi area when the victim along with two other girls was walking back home after college lectures, police said. Suddenly a two-wheeler which was passing on the road stopped near the girls and the pillion rider molested the girl and fled away, police said.

The victim started crying, they said. Kherwadi police rushed to the spot. “Police have registered a case of molestation and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO),” Rajendra Patil, Senior Police Inspector of Kherwadi said. “We are also examining CCTV footage to identify the accused,” Patil said.
