Mumbai: The BJP Union Minister Nitin Gadkari addressed his first election campaign rally for Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections on Thursday evening at Vile Parle Mumbai.

In his rally Gadkari challenged the new opponent Shiv Sena saying “if you claim that the party worked in civic body transparently in last 20 years then swear in the name of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj that you are clean”.

Gadkari added, “The Mumbai city is a financial capital of our country. It is a growth engine and so everybody wants to know about the city and its development plans. Usually projects are planned with future 50 years vision but in Mumbai city long term vision was missing,”he said.

Mumbai is an island city surrounded with water from three sides but no water transport project we have seen over here.  No such plan was phased out. Gadkari ensured if you give majority than in just 5 years we will transform the Mumbai city which Sena failed to do in last 20 years.

Further clearing air on allegations made against Devendra Fadnavis by Sena,  Gadkari, supported his cadre leader Fadnavis. He said,” No corruption happened in NMC. I challenge if someone proves that corruption happened in NMC, I will quit my political career.

He said, “ Bombay Port Trust will soon be the center of attraction . It will be the lungs of Mumbai city. We are beautifying the BPT area, also not a single inch of land will be given to builders and there will be no commercial development he ensured the audience present for his rally.
