Central Board of Secondary Education revises eligibility criteria for CTET 2018; read to know details

Good news for candidates of BEd, as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has revised the eligibility criteria for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2018.

According to Indian Express, candidates those who passed B.Ed qualification and already applied for Paper–II and have already paid the fee can now apply for both the papers — Paper-I and Paper-II. Candidates can apply for a paper I during the correction period also which is extended till September 15. Candidates can check the CTET official website, ctet.nic.in, for further details.

The new eligibility criteria for CBSE CTET 2018:

The candidates who have secured at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and who have acquired the qualification or B.Ed from any NCTE recognised institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes 1 to 5.

For teachers of classes 6-8, candidates should be graduate or are appearing in the final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.  Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
