Indore : Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced free training sessions for teachers in Online Labs (OLabs) on its website, urging schools to ensure maximum participation. Online Labs (OLabs) for School Environment is a virtual online e-learning initiative jointly developed by CDAC, Mumbai and Amrita University, Kollam with funding support from the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.

To facilitate the use of online labs, CBSE will be hosting various online training sessions, which will be announced on the Facebook page of OLabs.

CBSE has decided to host training sessions for helping students and teachers in taking benefit of the free resource. The funding of these trainings is arranged by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology under a project on ‘Rollout of OLabs’. The project is targeting teachers of CBSE affiliated schools. Teachers will be trained for using and managing OLab resources.

“It provides students experience of virtual experiments that will stimulate their interest and learning by giving them the virtual experience of doing real lab work, by graphically resembling with laboratory equipment and simulating a virtual medium,” Joint Director (CBSE Academic) Dr Sweta Singh signed circular states.

The content on OLabs has been developed for classes IX and X in Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and English and is aligned with the CBSE syllabus for classes IX and X. Therefore, TGT and PGT teachers will be trained in OLabs. Participating teachers will be awarded a participating certificate.
