Indore: Common Admission Test, which is a gateway to 20 IIMs and over 100 non-IIM institutions that accepts CAT scores for admissions, would be held on December 4.

IIM-Bangalore, which along with software partner TCS would be conducting CAT-2016, issued a notification on Sunday carrying information related to test date, registration dates and test cities.

With no change in format of exam, CAT this year again will be held in a single day window in 2 sessions. Registration for CAT 2016 will open on August 8 and will continue till September 22.

Through CAT, admissions would be granted in flagship PGP 2017-19 in all the IIMs and non-IIM institutions like MDI, SPJIMR, FMS, IMI, NITIE, IMT, TAPMI, XIMB, etc.

The registration and application fee for CAT 2016 is Rs 1700, Rs 100 more from last year. The fee needs to be paid online only.

CAT 2016 notification reads, “Fee is Rs 1700 for general and NC-OBC candidates. However, if you belong to SC/ST/PWD (DA) category the applicable fee is Rs 850.”

Applicants will be able to download CAT admit card from October 18 till the exam date. Candidates can view and print the admit cards. The results of CAT would be announced in second week of January, 2017. Choose 4 test cities out of 136 Test will be held in the morning and afternoon sessions in 138 test cities all across the country.

At the time of registration, candidates have to select any 4 test cities as per their preference. Candidates will be allotted one among the 4 preferred cities, as per the availability, in any 1 of the 2 sessions after registrations are over.
